QTA demand has been increased continuously since 1990 because we have supplied to customers domestic and abroad of good quality at lower price based on strong cost competitiveness. To meet increased demand, we have increased our producing capacity through debottlenecking and expansion and currently, we produce 1.3 million tons of QTA per year.

Market share for QTA in domestic market was 11.4% in 1990 and that had been increased as 16.9% in 1998 even there was Asian financial crisis occurred. That was because we practiced a customer oriented management through regular technical A/S and strict quality control and strong cost competitiveness. Accordingly, market share of QTA extended to 24% in 2003
Foreign demands also started to be increased as noticing cost merit of QTA, therefore 30,000 tons of QTA export volume in 1999 had been dramatically increased to 300,000 tons in 2003. Within just 4 years , QTA export volume had been increased as ten times.
The export volume is expected to be more than 500,000 tons in 2004.
Samnam is contributing to national economic development by uplifting cost competitiveness of domestic polyester fiber industry and acquiring foreign currency with increased export volume through continuous efforts of improvement.
